At Jeddah Prep and Grammar School (JPGS), our Grammar School (Years 7 to 13) offers a structured and well-rounded education underpinned by high academic expectations, strong pastoral care, and diverse extracurricular opportunities.
Our goal is to equip students with knowledge, skills, and values for success in both their academic and personal lives.

Pupils follow a curriculum based on the British National Curriculum and Cambridge Examination Board, with enhancements to meet the needs of our international student body. The curriculum ensures a strong foundation across Key Stages 3 to 5. The approach provides a balance between academic challenge and personal development with an emphasis on progression, skill development, and academic rigour.
Key Stage 3 at Jeddah Prep and Grammar School is a vital stage in each pupil’s academic journey, where strong foundations are built and a love of learning is developed. Our curriculum is broad, balanced and ambitious, enabling pupils to gain knowledge and essential skills across disciplines.
At its core, pupils study English, Mathematics and Science, alongside Arabic and French, Local Cultural Studies (LCS), PSHE, Geography, History, Art, Music and Physical Education. This subject offer supports a well-rounded education, fostering curiosity, creativity and cultural awareness, while strengthening understanding of the local context.
Teaching is engaging and purposeful, encouraging pupils to think critically, ask questions and take responsibility for their learning. Lessons are carefully planned to provide challenge and support, ensuring strong progress.
Personal development is a key priority. Through PSHE and LCS, pupils build life skills and develop an appreciation of the Kingdom’s culture and heritage, helping them become confident, respectful and responsible individuals.
Learning extends beyond the classroom through extracurricular activities, including clubs, enrichment programmes and opportunities such as sailing, promoting teamwork, confidence and independence.
Assessment tracks progress and guides improvement, helping pupils reach their full potential. By the end of Key Stage 3, pupils are independent learners, well-prepared for Key Stage 4 and beyond.

Pupils undertake IGCSE examinations across a diverse range of subjects. The Cambridge curriculum is designed to provide depth and challenge, supporting pupils in achieving their full potential. Departments carefully structure subject pathways to ensure alignment with further education requirements. The two-year programme provides a balance of academic challenge and practical application, ensuring thorough preparation for A-Levels.

The Gateway to Global Success - The Sixth Form at JPGS serves as a vital bridge between secondary education and the world’s leading universities. We offer a diverse range of A-Level qualifications, meticulously designed to foster the independent study skills and academic rigor required for higher education. Our pupils are empowered to take ownership of their learning journey, supported by a bespoke mentoring program and the industry-leading Unifrog platform to ensure their future aspirations are within reach.
Beyond the classroom, life at JPGS is defined by leadership and global perspective. Whether embarking on international expeditions to Japan and Italy or spearheading student-led initiatives like the Business and Enterprise Society, our pupils develop the confidence to lead. By facilitating engagement in MOOCs, meaningful work experience, and community service, we ensure our graduates are not just academic high-achievers, but well-rounded, socially conscious global citizens

The JPGS curriculum ensures that students are given opportunities to challenge themselves and develop confidence, independence and resilience. When it comes to good teaching, we understand there are various approaches and strategies that work. We have articulated the best of these strategies, as indicated by evidence, and want teachers to actively engage with these. We have called this ‘The JPGS Playbook’. We want to ensure consistency in the quality of teaching across the academy and the behaviours required to achieve this consistency. In doing this, we will ensure the best outcomes for all students. Our 5-Phase lesson (RISPE) consists of the following:
Phase 1: The best possible start. Greeting students on threshold followed by a review of learning through a memory starter activity- we call this Retrieval Practice.
Phase 2: Introduction of the lesson and how it builds on from the previous lesson and leads to the next lesson
Phase 3: Presenting new material through Steer & Scaffold. Existing knowledge is activated through whole class feedback strategies followed by the introduction of new information in chunks and steps. Guided practice. Modelling using the ‘I do, we do, you do' approach
Phase 4: Deliberate Practice. Students work independently to apply the what they have learnt. Feedback is through live marking, making it timely and specific. Live marking focusses on providing feedback on misconceptions.
Phase 5: The best possible ending. Review of learning, rewards and celebrations supported by clear routines and dismissal. This is essentially the Evaluation.

Throughout the academic year, various subjects organize enriching trips abroad, providing students with valuable opportunities to extend their learning beyond the classroom. These trips are designed to offer cultural, educational, and experiential insights that enhance subject knowledge, broaden perspectives, and foster personal growth.

Pupils are assessed through regular formative and summative assessments. Reports include attainment grades, progress tracking, and attitude to learning scores, offering clear insights into pupil performance. Predicted grades are based on ongoing assessments and baseline testing to ensure accuracy in tracking pupil progress.
| Year Group | Summative Assesment |

| Years: 7, 8, 9 and 10 | 2 Assessments windows at the end of Term 1 and 2. |
| Years: 11, 12 and 13 | 1 Assessment Window and 1 Mock Examination. |

The well-being of our pupils is a priority. The pastoral care system provides a robust support network through dedicated tutors, mentoring programmes, and well-being initiatives. This ensures that pupils feel valued and supported throughout their educational journey. Form tutors, pastoral leaders, and subject teachers work collaboratively to monitor well-being and academic progress. Themed Contemporary Weeks, PSHE lessons, and well-being initiatives are an integral part of our school culture.

Through Unifrog and dedicated Sixth Form mentoring, pupils receive tailored support in exploring career pathways, preparing university applications, and securing placements at leading institutions worldwide. Our careers team provides personalised guidance at every stage of the process. This process is not limited to Sixth Form either, we provide Subject Choice and Career Guidance Exploration Programmes as early as Year 9.
