Early Years at JPGS The early years of a child’s life are a time of wonder, growth, and discovery. At Jeddah Prep and Grammar School (JPGS), we are dedicated to providing an environment where children aged 2-5 can thrive. In Year 1, we make sure pupils have a smooth and happy transition from the Early Years Foundation Stage. Our curriculum builds on their Reception experiences and play remains a key part of their day. Year 2 is an exciting time filled with fun discoveries and new learning adventures! Our curriculum is designed to be broad and balanced, with a big focus on English, maths and exploring the world around us. It’s all about sparking curiosity, building confidence and creating a love for learning. Key focus areas include:
Pupils strengthen their reading and writing skills by building sentences, using punctuation and learning new words.
Key skills in addition, subtraction and simple problem-solving are developed in a fun and engaging way.
Hands-on investigations help pupils explore the natural world and learn how to ask and answer questions like young scientists.
Activities are designed to encourage responsibility, teamwork, and independence, helping pupils take ownership of their learning.

In Year 3, pupils will have numerous opportunities for involvement, growth and learning throughout the school. Transitioning to Key Stage 2 is a big adventure, as pupils get used to new timetables and routines, meet new friends and teachers and catch up with old ones. Key focus areas include:
