Pastoral care is central to life at JPGS, ensuring pupils receive the support they need to thrive. Each pupil is guided by a Class Teacher (Prep School) or Form Tutor (Grammar School), their primary point of contact for questions and support. Younger pupils spend most of their day with their teacher, while older pupils meet their tutor during morning and afternoon sessions.
The Form Tutor’s role is to become the expert on each of their tutees and to understand and support them in their life at the School.
At Jeddah Prep and Grammar School (JPGS), every pupil joins one of three Houses, fostering smaller, supportive communities beyond year groups.
Monthly House meetings led by the House Coordinator promote collaboration and identity through sports, arts, and academic competitions.
The Coordinator oversees pupils’ academic progress, personal development, and discipline while offering pastoral support. Staff actively encourage and celebrate pupils' achievements in both academics and extracurriculars, sharing successes with Tutors and the Headmaster to inspire pride across the school community.
All pupils' medical information must be shared with the School Clinic and Nurses. The Nurses are available throughout the school day.
No pupil is to take a course of treatment or prescription medicine at school without the knowledge of the School Nurses
Accidents or emergencies must be reported to the Nurses at once whenever they occur.
After a visit to the Nurses, pupils will be given a medical note which they must show to their Class Teacher / Mentor.
In case of moderate to serious injury, pupils will be given a medical slip after a visit to the nurse's clinic. They must show it to their class teacher and attach it to their communication book. If a pupil visits the clinic due to minor injuries, the teacher will then communicate this to the parents during pick-up time
If a pupil falls ill, the Nurse will provide medical aid and notify teachers and parents. Pupils need a medical note to return to class and must consult the Nurse before leaving school due to illness. The Nurse and Receptionists will inform parents and arrange for the pupil to go home.
At Jeddah Prep and Grammar School, the health, safety, and well-being of pupils, staff, and parents are our top priorities. Health protocols align with the Saudi Ministry of Health and NHS standards, ensuring adaptability to evolving guidelines.
The clinic, staffed by experienced healthcare professionals, is equipped with essential medical supplies, including an AED, wheelchair, oxygen, nebulizers, glucometer, BP machine, clinic beds, and a medicine refrigerator.
Clear policies are in place to manage pupils illnesses, accidents, or injuries, diligently followed by school nurses. Parents are notified promptly if a child is too unwell to continue school activities. Please keep sick children at home to aid recovery and prevent the spread of illness.
