At Jeddah Prep and Grammar School, Key Stage 4 marks an inspiring transition where students take greater ownership of their academic journey. Grounded in specialist teaching and rigorous IGCSE frameworks, our curriculum balances intellectual challenge with personalized support. We cultivate independent thinkers, resilient learners, and articulate young adults equipped with the deep subject mastery and critical skills required to thrive in future global pathways
The Year 9 options process is a pivotal milestone at Jeddah Prep and Grammar School, marking the transition from Key Stage 3 into our two-year IGCSE programme in Years 10 and 11. During this period, students begin tailoring their academic profile—choosing subjects that reflect their individual strengths, stimulate their curiosity, and build strong foundations for future Sixth Form, university, and career aspirations. Our mission is to ensure every family feels fully supported and informed at each stage of this journey.
We provide a comprehensive framework of guidance to help students make confident, balanced decisions:
Curriculum Presentations & Subject Fair: An introduction to the Cambridge International Education (CIE) framework, allowing students and parents to explore course content, assessment formats, and expectations directly with subject specialists.
The IGCSE Exploration Programme: Taster sessions and detailed insights into subjects introduced for the first time at Key Stage 4, such as Business Studies, Economics, and Sociology.
One-to-One Guided Options Interviews: Dedicated individual consultations to discuss academic progress, personal interests, and long-term ambitions, ensuring every student chooses a coherent and viable combination of subjects.
Our Key Stage 4 curriculum combines rigorous core academics with a flexible range of optional courses, delivering both academic breadth and subject depth.
